AFCON Training in Uganda
Uganda has officially launched construction of multiple AFCON 2027 training facilities across the country, beginning with a groundbreaking ceremony at Makerere University Sports Ground.
Hon. Peter Ogwang, representing First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports Janet Museveni, presided over the ceremony. The new facilities will include football training pitches, athletics tracks, and multi-purpose courts.
Other sites include Kyambogo University, Gulu University, Lira University, Pece Stadium, Hoima Booma Grounds, and Masindi Municipal Stadium.
The projects are part of Uganda’s preparations to co-host AFCON 2027 under the Pamoja Bid with Kenya and Tanzania.
